The CZ 455 Lux rifle achieves its lightweight profile through precision billet machining and optimized barrel configuration. This carefully engineered weight distribution provides the portability you need for field work while maintaining the stability required for accurate shot placement during hunting and plinking applications.

Where does the CZ 455 Lux’s 20.6-inch barrel length position this rifle within the .22 LR market? You’ll find this compact dimension creates a 38.5-inch overall length, maintaining the rifle’s youth-oriented design philosophy.
The hammer-forged barrel features a 1:16 twist rate, delivering versatility across various .22 LR applications while preserving the CZ 455 Lux’s classic handling characteristics.
Material Made Out Of
Three primary materials define the CZ 455 Lux’s construction quality and performance characteristics.
You’ll find the receiver is billet machined from solid steel, providing exceptional dimensional stability and durability.
The barrel utilizes hammer-forged steel construction, ensuring consistent accuracy and longevity.
The stock features premium Turkish Walnut wood, delivering classic aesthetics with superior strength-to-weight ratios for extended field use.
Chambered In
Chambering versatility stands as a defining characteristic of the CZ 455 Lux, with the rifle specifically designed for the .22 WMR (Winchester Magnum Rimfire) cartridge.
The .22 WMR’s increased velocity and energy make it ideal for small game hunting and pest control applications.
You’ll find this CZ 455 rifle delivers superior ballistic performance compared to standard .22 LR ammunition.
Capacity
Standard magazine capacity for the CZ 455 Lux delivers 5 rounds of .22 WMR ammunition through its detachable magazine system. You’ll find the standard capacity sufficient for most hunting applications, though CZ offers an optional ten round magazine when you need extended capacity.
The detachable design enables quick reloading during field use, maintaining your shooting rhythm effectively.
Trigger Pull
How does the CZ 455 Lux’s trigger system perform for precision shooting? You’ll find the factory trigger pull ranges 3.3-5.5 pounds with adjustment capability.
The CZ 455 Lux requires stock removal to access the trigger guard mechanism for modifications. Careful spring tension adjustment reduces pull weight to 2-3 pounds. Aftermarket components like Diversified Innovative Products adjustable sears enhance precision further.
Safety?
Several critical specifications define the CZ 455 Lux’s operational parameters and safety profile. You’ll find a manual thumb safety positioned for intuitive operation during handling.
The rifle’s 38.5-inch overall length with 20.6-inch barrel provides optimal balance at 6 pounds total weight. Its .22 LR chambering features 1:16 twist rate, while the detachable magazine holds 5 rounds for controlled ammunition management.
Action
The bolt-action mechanism delivers reliable cycling through a smooth, controlled operation that’s engineered for precision shooting. You’ll experience consistent lockup and extraction with each cycle, thanks to CZ’s proven design.
The action accommodates the detachable 5-round magazine system seamlessly, allowing quick reloads without compromising the rifle’s inherent accuracy potential for your .22 WMR shooting applications.
Optic Ready?
When considering optic compatibility, you’ll find the CZ 455 Lux equipped with an 11mm dovetail scope mount machined directly into the receiver. However, this optic ready platform isn’t pre-drilled for traditional scope bases, requiring a dovetail-to-Picatinny adapter for most modern optics.
The factory iron sights zero at 50 meters, giving you backup precision across the interchangeable barrel system.
Picatinny Rail?
Unlike rifles with factory Picatinny rails, you’ll need an aftermarket adapter to mount modern optics on your CZ 455 Lux’s 11mm dovetail receiver. This dedicated Weaver/Picatinny adapter transforms your traditional dovetail into a versatile mounting platform.
The low-profile design preserves the rifle’s classic aesthetic while enabling compatibility with contemporary sighting systems—unlike the CZ 455 American’s integrated rail system.
Review
