Beyond the barrel’s technical specifications, the CZ 457 Royal’s construction materials reflect meticulous engineering choices that prioritize both durability and aesthetic appeal. You’ll find a matte blued steel receiver paired with a premium walnut stock featuring satin semi-gloss finish.
The decorative forend tip adds sophisticated detailing while the shorter, slab-sided action reduces overall weight without compromising structural integrity.
Chambered In
When selecting a precision rimfire rifle, you’ll find the CZ 457 Royal exclusively chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 1:16 inch twist rate optimized for standard velocity ammunition.
This twist rate delivers exceptional accuracy with most .22 LR cartridges, making it ideal for target shooting and small game hunting. The chambering’s versatility allows you to comb through various ammunition weights effectively.

The CZ 457 Royal features a 5-round detachable magazine that provides quick reloading capabilities during extended shooting sessions.
You’ll find the reliable polymer construction ensures consistent feeding and durability under field conditions. The detachable design allows you to use multiple magazines for faster transitions between shots, maximizing your shooting efficiency during training or competition scenarios.
Trigger Pull
Precision defines the CZ 457 Royal’s adjustable trigger system, delivering a crisp 2-pound, 6-ounce pull weight straight from the factory. You’ll find this exceptionally light pull weight ideal for precision shooting applications.
The trigger’s adjustable design allows you to fine-tune pull weight to your exact preferences, enhancing accuracy performance and establishing the Royal as a premium .22 LR platform.
Safety?
Building upon its precision-focused design, the CZ 457 Royal incorporates a receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety mechanism that addresses American shooters’ preferences.
This push-forward-to-fire safety represents a significant departure from the backward safety found on previous CZ models. You’ll appreciate this intuitive operation that aligns with American shooting conventions, enhancing your rifle’s ergonomics and overall handling characteristics during field use.
Action
At the heart of the CZ 457 Royal lies a refined bolt-action mechanism chambered in .22 LR with a 1:16 inch twist rate optimized for standard-velocity ammunition. You’ll appreciate the reduced 60-degree bolt lift that provides superior scope clearance compared to traditional 90-degree systems.
The action cycles smoothly back and forth, complementing the rifle’s decorative forend tip perfectly.
Optic Ready?
CZ designed the 457 Royal specifically for scope mounting, eliminating iron sights entirely in favor of an optics-first approach.
You’ll find an 11mm dovetail receiver accommodating various scope mounting systems. The high, flat American-style comb ensures proper scope alignment.
The extended forend provides enhanced stability for precision shooting while maintaining the classic look that defines traditional rimfire platforms.
Picatinny Rail?
